Scouting Report from 2007 Pro Basketball Combine

Category Comments
Physical & Mental

Physically, he is very strong. Good size. Mentally, he is very focused and determined.

Ball Skills Solid handle for his position as a forward. Could improve as a "2". Does well in the open court.
Offense A good shooter from the wing. Has a very strong drive to the basket. Can finish. Needs to expand his shooting range to beyond the arc. Needs to be more consistent from the foul line. With his size and determination to get inside, he can draw fouls.  He needs to convert them to points.
Rebounding Solid on both ends of the floor. Establishes good position, uses his size and strength to his advantage and boxes out well.
Defense 1-on-1 he is very good. He needs work in a team defensive concept. Needs to recognize help side quicker.

Game Knowledge

At his size, he needs to understand the role of a 2, 3 and 4 to increase his versatility. He will be forced out on the wing more at the next level, and should focus on the skills he will need as a 2/3.
Strengths Terrific size, shooting and drives the the basket.
Opportunities for Improvement With his mental focus, he will excel when he starts to transition his skills to the perimeter, in preparation for the next level. Developing a stronger handle, under pressure, in transition, will only help his marketability. Becoming a strong "2", combined with his size, will make him an excellent package.
Overall Comments

A coachable, focused young man. Determined and wants to learn.
