| Joe is solid technically, with a good tactical sense. His defensive positioning was generally good, though he was caught by runners in behind at times. He had some trouble in 1v1 situations especially with pacier players. Technically solid and consistent playing out of the back. Showed good leadership with this group. Has the concentration to stay tuned into the gagme, thought he had trouble a couple of times with the speed of play. |

2012: All-Conference-USA Third Team on the pitch... Dawkins was the only non-FIU ‘keeper to start all 18 games this season, leading the team with 1,626 minutes on the pitch. The co-captain finished up a stellar career with 4,909 minutes logged in 63 games played. The defender out of Auckland, New Zealand, scored a goal and compiled three assists for a total of five points in his career... Conference USA All-Academic Team 2011: Played in 1,344 minutes of action throughout the span of 15 games during the season... Completed an assist ten minutes into the game against FAU (8/28)... Had eight shot attempts for an overall .530 shot attempts per game... Obtained recognition as a student-athlete on the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll... 2010: Appeared in 14 games, starting 10 in the defensive backfield for the Panthers... Collected three points on a goal and an assist with seven shots, three on goal... Played 831 minutes... Scored the game-winning goal against Hartwick College (10/22) on a shot from 22 yards out... Also assisted on a Michael Muehseler goal in the same game. 2009: One of FIU's most consistent defenders who appeared in 16 contests, including 14 as a starter... Contributed to FIU holding opponents to one goal or less on eight occasions... Was instrumental in four FIU shutouts...
