2003: Played in all 22 games... Registered three points on
three assists... 2002: Earned Big West Honorable Mention honors
after finishing third on the team with seven assists…He was just one of
seven players to appear in all 22 matches for the Gauchos, and just one
of two midfielders to do so…Made 16 starts, most on the left side, to
tie him for sixth most among returnees…Finished sixth on the team with
11 total points, the third most in a very talented midfield…Made nine
starts in conference play, tying him for third most on the season…Netted
one goal and assisted on another in UCSB’s win over cross-town rival
Westmont…Tallied two assists at home against UC Riverside…With nine
career assists he has averaged .19 assists per game, the second highest
average of returnees with two or more seasons as a Gaucho…2001: A
powerful and aggressive midfielder, Kubota scored the Gauchos’ second
goal of the season in the 3-0 season opening win over Long Island
University…Finished his sophomore year with one goal and one assist in
13 games played…Shot .143 on the season with seven shots taken…2000:
The freshman made a quick impact with his intensity in the midfield
proving to be a valuable asset for the Gauchos...Tallied 3 points on the
season with one goal and one assist...Appeared in 13 matches and started
11, tied for tops among freshmen...Placed 14 shots on goal, again tied
for tops among freshmen...Scored the game winning goal in a victory over
Centenary College.

Professional Soccer Career:
Played in ten matches
during the summer of 2003 with the Orange County Blue Star of the USL’s
Premier Development League (PDL)…Started all three postseason matches in
helping the Blue Star reach the semi-finals of the national playoff.

Miscellaneous Soccer Notes:
Played for the JUSA Alliance on the club
level while a prepster... Prepped at Servite High School...He was a
two-time All-Serra League selection as a senior...In his final season,
he set a Servite record with 20 assists, adding to his school-record
career total of 49 assists in four seasons...Recorded a hat-trick during
his senior season in the championship game of the Burroughs Tournament,
giving his team a 3-2 win...Played both forward and midfield in high
school...Coached by Mike Lussier. |
